From the counter to the consignor's money

A consignment shop lists other people's things and answers to them for every dollar. Unshelf keeps each consignor's items, records and estimates in one place with your own.

We list our own inventory with it every day, in Mid-Michigan. Unshelf is not for sale before mid-2027.

At the counter

  1. Sign upThe consignor signs on a phone or on paper and picks how they want to be paid.
  2. IntakeYou shoot their items like any others. Each item gets a likely and an up-to payout estimate worked out from the intake photos, so you can tell the consignor what to expect.
  3. Held for themA consignor's items stay with their own. They go into a lot only with a yes, and nothing is offered below a consignor's minimum.
  4. SoldMoney for an item becomes payable only after delivery plus the return window.

A consignor can opt out of having their items used to improve Unshelf.

The records a Michigan shop has to keep

Michigan seller records are kept as items come in, and a police export is ready when you are asked for one. When the police say an item is stolen, one flag holds it, takes the listing down and holds the money.

Consignors' details are locked behind a PIN. 1099 totals are tracked as the year goes.

Every listing still waits for a person to approve it, consignor items included. The review page shows how.

What is still planned

  • PayoutsPayouts come after the return window. We are working toward it, pending regulatory approval. Planned
  • Consignor pagesA page of their own where a consignor sees their items and expected payouts without phoning. The sample item page in the footer shows the design. Planned
  • Lots across consignorsCombining items from different consignors, with every one's yes. Planned
  • A register at the counterSelling in the shop from the same item records as your listings. Planned

What it is expected to cost

$99 a month is the price we expect to charge a shop that also sells for consignors, no earlier than mid-2027. Nothing is for sale yet and nobody is charged. Every feature is in that price: no add-ons, no per-listing fees and no per-user fees. The pricing page has both plans.
